The Vietnamese Program: Encourages Children to Express Their Freely in Writing

Alaska accords special importance to its Vietnamese program despite its strong emphasis on English language education. The Vietnamese program is an integration between the Ministry of Education and Training’s textbooks and the Language-EQ program designed by Dr. Dieu Lan Phuong, a lecturer at the Department of Literature, University of Science and Technology in Hanoi. Dr Phuong is the founder of the Language Development and EQ Club at the Hanoi Social and Humanities School.

The program aims to facilitate meaningful learning experiences that encourage students to develop their experiences, and feelings, and explore life. The Vietnamese teaching method emphasizes practical application and real-life experiences, encouraging children to express their thoughts through writing. Additionally, the “Reading Culture” Program is tailored for each age group, nurturing a love for reading and enhancing students’ perception and creativity in writing.

Furthermore, the Vietnamese Program places special emphasis on recognizing the individual characteristics of each student. This approach cultivates linguistic thinking capacity and fosters lifelong self-study, enabling students to maximize their creativity and confidently utilize their mother tongue to express themselves and connect with the world at large. This personalized approach supports the holistic development of each student.
