Children of primary school age, typically 6 to 10 years old, are known for their high levels of activity. Consequently, they need to consume 3 main meals and 2-3 additional meals throughout the day to maintain sufficient energy levels for growth, learning, and daily activities. Providing regular meals not only supports their current needs but also lays the foundation for the next stage of their physical and intellectual development.
At Alaska, we prioritize the use of locally sourced, sustainable, and organic ingredients to ensure the quality, health, and well-being of our students. By providing nutritious and environmentally friendly meals, we aim to set a positive example and instil healthy eating habits.
The children’s meals at our school consist of 1 main meal and 2 snacks. These meals are carefully planned to align with the budget contributions from parents and also meet the nutritional standards set by the Ministry of Education and Training. Our priority is to ensure that the meals are diverse, properly prepared, and delicious, catering to the needs of elementary school students. We guarantee that the meals provide an adequate amount of essential nutrients, including carbohydrates, proteins, fats, vitamins, and minerals, which are crucial for the growth and development of primary school children.
At our school, all food preparation, cleaning, processing, and meal activities take place in a clean and well-maintained kitchen and cafeteria, under the careful management and supervision of the School Board of Directors.
To ensure variety and prevent boredom, meals are changed regularly every day. Additionally, in compliance with food safety regulations, all food used in meals is sampled, preserved, and stored in the kitchen for 24 hours.
