🎯 The 2024-2025 school year marks the first year that Alaska Academy implements Collins resources which are aligned with the Cambridge curriculum, with class 1A1 being the first to participate in this curriculum.
🎯 In addition to the Wellbeing subject, which excites the children, the Global Perspectives course is also a “FAMILIAR yet NEW” subject that fascinates the students.
🎯 Global Perspectives is designed for children to engage with FAMILIAR topics—issues that directly impact the world and human life—such as:
– Family and friends
– Am I healthy?
– Water, water everywhere
– What a waste!
– Getting a message!
🎯 However, with a UNIQUE approach—learning through participation in small challenges/experiences/models/projects—Alaskids will grasp these topics entirely in English. This way, they not only learn the language but also build and refine essential skills such as analysis, evaluation, reflection, collaboration, and communication.
🎯 Once the challenges are completed, students will present the knowledge they have acquired; from this, teachers will identify what the students have done well and what areas need improvement.
▶️The world is unfolding with countless issues that people must engage with, create solutions for, and confront. Through the Global Perspectives course, students will be introduced to, explore, and discuss pressing global topics from an early age. This is an opportunity for them to equip themselves with necessary skills and develop innovative, breakthrough ideas to easily connect with peers around the globe and adapt to a constantly changing world.
💕 We invite parents and teachers to attend the project session themed “How to be healthy?” of class 1A1 to observe the unique “Health Care” Handbook—a product of the Global Perspectives course created and presented by the students.❤️
