💕 Today is a day unlike any other for the kids at Alaska Preschool:
📍 The children are dressed in beautiful clothes, carrying shimmering lanterns.
📍 They get to make pure white sticky rice cakes with their teachers, looking cute and fragrant.
📍 They can color paper fans in all sorts of fun shapes.
📍 They get to complete colorful sand paintings with their own hands.
📍 They can watch artisans create traditional toys like tò he (figurines made from sticky rice flour), make bamboo grasshoppers, and craft spinning tops from long leaves…
▶️ This year’s Mid-Autumn Festival, due to the impact of Typhoon Yagi, the children cannot enjoy the festive drums and lively lion dances as they have in previous years. However, right under the roof of Alaska Preschool, surrounded by friends and teachers, playing and creating traditional Mid-Autumn toys with their own hands… is a truly delightful experience for each child.
💕 Tonight, under the bright autumn moonlight, the children of Alaska Preschool wish to send their beautiful dreams up to the sky: They hope that the little ones in flood-affected areas and their families will have a warm Mid-Autumn evening—a place where hope is rekindled after many days of struggling against the rain and wind.❤️
