ALASKA ACADEMY: MAKING A PENCIL BOX FROM RECYCLED MATERIALS

In last week’s Project class, Mr. Jack – the beloved teacher at Alaska Preschool – shared with the kindergarten kids how to make a pencil box from recycled materials.

Using used milk cans, plastic bottles, and old plastic cups, the little ones skillfully cut and glued to create unique pencil holders.

The final activity in the 3R lessons: Reduce – Reuse – Recycle, was a practical way for the kids to remember and apply what they learned about protecting the environment in their daily lives by making these cute pencil boxes together.
