🌎 This week, the little explorers of Jupiter A1 at Alaska Preschool embarked on a special journey: “The Sun and Shadows,” where they uncovered the secrets something of the sun and shadows.
🌎 Their guide for this adventure was the tall, fun, and lovable teacher, Mr. Josh.
To help the 3-4 year-olds learn Science in English naturally, besides taking the kids outside, Teacher Josh used a “super-giant flashlight” to represent the sun, along with many funny paper cutouts.
By leading the children through a variety of exciting and lively activities, Mr. Josh not only helped them partly understand what the sun is? and what creates a shadow?, but also taught and reviewed English vocabulary related to the lesson. They also practiced English phrases describing human activities during the day and night time.
🌎 Through observation and hands-on experiments, the children in Jupiter A1 were thrilled to discover that:
📍 Every shadow has a different shape, which can be similar to or different from the object that creates it.
📍 As the sun moves across the sky, shadows also “dance” and change their shapes.
✅Throughout the lesson, giggles and surprised “oohs” and “aahs” filled the classroom as the children learned about these amazing wonders, all thanks to their teacher.

✅ At Alaska, in Jupiter Advanced class, preschool children learn English almost whole day (except for two Vietnamese lessons that follow the preschool curriculum). All the English lessons are taught by a native English-speaking teacher, with a Vietnamese English-speaking assistant teacher.
Using a lively, visual teaching method, Alaska’s preschoolers learn English through: songs, games, storytelling, animated videos, and real-world objects, materials, and toys they can touch and hold.
Through this play-based, low-pressure approach, the lessons help children explore the world around them while absorbing English naturally and effectively.❤️
