🍒As summer arrives, clusters of lychees begin to turn a ripe, vibrant red.
Not wanting to miss out on the fresh flavors of the early season, today, the teachers of the Jupiter B2 class (Alaska Preschool) brought bright clusters of lychees into the classroom, along with many fascinating facts about this signature summer fruit.
Observing, touching, peeling, and tasting the sweetness of this summer treat… the little ones of Jupiter B2 were absolutely thrilled to discover that beneath the rough, pinkish-red skin lies a milky-white, juicy, and crisp flesh with a rich, sweet aroma.
Remembering their teachers’ reminders, every child carefully enjoyed the nutritious flesh and left behind the shiny, reddish-brown seeds. Laughter and cheerful chatter echoed through the room around the plates of fresh, rosy lychees.
🍒In addition to eating them fresh, the children also watched their teachers skillfully combine chia seeds, tea, and lychee flesh to whip up a refreshing lychee sweet soup. Fresh lychees are already delicious, but when transformed into a cooling summer dessert, they become even more irresistible.
💕Thank you to the teachers and children of the Jupiter B2 class for cooling down the sultry summer heat with sweet, aromatic plates of fruit and radiant, sunny smiles! ❤️
