✏️In our modern world, many children observe or use “self-closing doors” on a daily basis.
However, have you ever wondered: “How can a door open and close on its own without any direct human touch?”
To find the answer, Unit 1 of the Science curriculum introduced Grade 3 Alaskids to the fascinating fundamentals of “Electricity, Magnets, and Electromagnets.” Following the theoretical lessons, our Grade 3 students applied their newfound knowledge to the “DESIGN A SELF-CLOSING GATE” project right in the Science LAB.
Using simple materials such as cardboard boxes, wooden sticks, batteries, and wires, the LAB session for class 3A4 transformed into a true “makerspace.” In this creative environment, students worked in teams to assemble gate models capable of operating automatically.
Gasps of “Wow!” and “Aha!” echoed through the room as the children witnessed firsthand how the magnetic force generated by electric currents magically controlled the gate’s movement.
💕A big thank you to the exciting “DESIGN A SELF-CLOSING GATE” project and our “super-dedicated” teacher, Ms. Pham Ngan Thai.
We hope that the knowledge and skills Alaskids gain from these Science sessions will serve as a vital foundation, empowering them to seek answers to their own questions and confidently tackle real-world challenges in the future. ⚡🧲🏗️
