Today, the young students at Alaska Preschool participated in a special cultural activity: wrapping bánh chưng, the traditional Vietnamese rice cake.

With green dong leaves, fragrant sticky rice, mung beans, and pork, the teachers and staff carefully prepared all the ingredients needed for the activity.

Watching the teachers and students, dressed in colorful áo dài, bustling about washing leaves, cutting, and skillfully wrapping the rice and beans, it felt like the arrival of Spring and the Lunar New Year festival, Tet, was just around the corner.

Not only the school staff, but also some parents and grandparents joined in to guide the children in wrapping the bánh chưng. As a result, the cakes turned out beautifully, filled with love and a sense of community.

Educating children about cultural traditions through hands-on experiences is a key learning activity at Alaska Preschool. Through these activities, the teachers hope to instill in the children a deep appreciation for the cultural and traditional values of their nation. In doing so, the children will learn to love their homeland and develop compassionate hearts.
