In honor of the 70th anniversary of the Liberation of the Capital, the young students of Grade 1 at Alaska International School were treated to a special Language and EQ lesson. Their teacher introduced the book “Hanoi – The Rising Dragon” and the famous poem “Hanoi’s 36 Streets and Alleys.”

The engaging lesson about Hanoi, combined with hands-on experiences of the city, soon inspired the kids to create charming and whimsical paintings that captured the unique beauty of the Vietnamese capital.

To commemorate Hanoi’s significant historic day, the Grade 1 students held an exhibition of their paintings and gifts representing the city in the breezy courtyard of Alaska School, making the lessons more profound and meaningful.

On this delightful autumn day, parents, teachers, and Alaskids were invited to admire the artwork, and savor the flavors of Hanoi, including sweet, chewy early-season green sticky rice, plump persimmons and bananas, and sour, spicy, salty, and sweet dried fruits. This celebration allowed everyone to deepen their love and appreciation for the vibrant and cherished city of Hanoi
