ALASKIDS SHINE AT THE INTERNATIONAL KANGAROO MATHEMATICS COMPETITION (IKMC) 2024

The organizers of the Kangaroo International Mathematics Competition (IKMC) 2024 – the world’s largest mathematics competition – have announced remarkable achievements by the students of Alaska International Primary School. Out of the 77 students who participated, an impressive 32 have been recognized with awards.

Among the winners, 5 students received the prestigious High Distinction Award (equivalent to a Gold Medal) – the top honor reserved for the top 1% of scorers in each grade level nationwide.

The High Distinction Award recipients are:

Vu Xuan Huy Hoang – Grade 3A1

Cao Hoang Dung – Grade 5A1

Nguyen Huu Minh Dang – Grade 1A2

Truong Duc Minh Khoi – Grade 4A3

Trinh Hoang Duong – Grade 2A2

Additionally, 3 students were awarded the Distinction Award (equivalent to a Silver Medal) – recognizing the Top 3% of scorers in each grade level nationwide.

The Distinction Award winners are:

Le Nguyen Nam Hung – Grade 3A1

Nguyen Bao Ngoc – Grade 2A2

Nghiem Thu Ha – Grade 3A1

Furthermore, 5 students placed in the top 5% of scorers (equivalent to a Silver Medal), 13 students placed in the top 10% (equivalent to a Bronze Medal), and 6 students placed in the top 15% (equivalent to a Bronze Medal) in their respective grade levels.

Notably, Vu Xuan Huy Hoang – Grade 3A1 also won the prestigious School Champion Award, which is given to the student with the highest percentage ranking from each school with over 50 students registered for the IKMC 2024 exam.
