🌱 Today, during their discovery class, the little students of the Mercury Group at Alaska Preschool were very excited to learn about the lotus flower.
🌱 Gathered around fresh, fragrant early-summer lotus blossoms… the children took turns observing, discussing, and answering the teacher’s questions, then eagerly discovered:
🩸 The shape, color, and distinctive scent of the lotus flower
🩸 The parts of the lotus flower (petals, stamens, lotus seed pod, lotus receptacle)
🩸 Where the lotus grows (ponds, lakes, swamps)…
🩸 Dishes made from lotus (lotus seeds, lotus stems, lotus tea)
🩸 Especially, why the lotus — a symbol of purity and nobility — was chosen as Vietnam’s National Flower!
▶️ Not only did the Mercury students get to hear about, touch, and describe lotuses, but they also participated in many activities surrounding the lotus flowers, such as: flower arranging, lotus picture puzzles, coloring, describing the flower’s development process, etc. As a result, each child’s creative thinking, motor skills, and communication skills are honed and developed.
💕 Hanoi is now in lotus season. The lotus is truly beautiful and useful, isn’t it, kids? Let’s remember and share with our parents and grandparents all the interesting things we’ve learned from the discovery class about the lotus flower!❤️
