📍 In preparation for this year’s Mid-Autumn Festival, Alaska has planned to celebrate with lively lion dances, colorful performances, and an exciting circus and magic show.
🌱 Then… Typhoon Yagi struck, causing immense material damage and an immeasurable loss of life.
🌱 In sympathy and solidarity with the people and students in the flood-affected areas, Alaska’s plan for the 2024 Mid-Autumn Festival has changed.
🌱 Accordingly, alongside efforts to call for donations, inventory, and package items to send to the flood zones, the teachers are still diligently preparing so that on the day of the Mid-Autumn Festival, the Alaskids can come together to: MAKE MOONCAKES, CREATE STAR LANTERNS, PAINT MASKS, MAKE PAPER FANS, SHAPE TO HE, and CREATE CHONG CHONG/ BAMBOO FLYING KITES… right in the school’s playground.
🌱 Thus, the Mid-Autumn Festival at Alaska, although lacking the sound of drums and lion dances, still resonates with the essence of Vietnamese culture. There, laughter and joy fill the air as friends and teachers gather together. There, the Alaskids can explore and experience the beauty of their traditional culture.
💕 Everyone goes through various Mid-Autumn Festivals in their lives, and the Mid-Autumn Festival at Alaska always holds beautiful moments—where Alaskids grow up, gradually perfect their skills, and learn to open their hearts in empathy and sharing with others and with life❤️.
