? Implemented over the course of a month (3 sessions per week), the lesson “Patterns in Decoration” has transformed from something entirely new to an incredibly engaging experience for the children in the Mercury class at Alaska Kindergarten.
? Guiding the children to understand the principle of repetition—a crucial design principle in decoration—teacher Nguyễn Hương Trà skillfully utilized various methods to engage the children’s senses:
? Create sounds and physical movements based on repeating patterns
? Use colors and shapes (like LEGO, straws, toys, etc.) to arrange into patterns
? Compare patterns and identify differences
? Let’s watch a video to discover repeating patterns in nature/life (like honeycomb structures, decorative patterns on ceilings, flooring tiles, fabrics, clothing, etc.)
☘️ Now, most of the children can easily identify the patterns of color, shape, and decorative motifs on a product or within a specific space. Do you see your child making an effort?
? What’s even more special is that during the final session of “Patterns in Decoration,” the children were able to create their own artwork following the principle of repetition to show off to their parents and grandparents.
