The “maze” is an incredibly captivating game for children. Thus, there’s nothing more exciting than when the 3rd-grade students at Alaska International School get to create unique maze toys during STEM classes at school.
Inspired by the story and images of mazes carved on ancient stones in England, along with intriguing information that can sometimes puzzle the mind but is also immensely appealing and sparks curiosity, the Alaskids eagerly collaborated to sketch the toy “Escape the Maze” with all their enthusiasm.
Using simple, readily available materials like cardstock, colored markers, scissors, rulers, cardboard boxes, wooden sticks, straws, marbles, and candy, combined with knowledge from technology, math, and art, the “Escape the Maze” toy gradually took shape after four lessons, impressing the students themselves.
